ABOUT ABOUT

Dear friends,

Please join us for a Barn Raising Harvest Party including food, drinks, studio tour, and an intimate concert to continue raising funds to finish our music studio!

In an effort to capture the last beautiful days of warmth here in Charlottesville, we decided to turn our touring life on its head.  Instead of coming to your town to play a show, we’d like to invite you to our town, to our very backyard in fact, to share the progress of our studio and collectively raise the funds for the next stage of the studio construction.

As you might have guessed, the project’s budget has increased and so we are again asking our community to help us make this very special space a reality.  As you’ve seen from the pictures, it is so much more than a space for recording.  It is actually more like a small cathedral devoted to the creative arts, especially music.  And with the addition of the balcony surrounding the main floor, we are realizing we can hold small concerts right here in our backyard.

So on Saturday, Oct 23, we invite you to join a small group of friends/fans of the band to celebrate the harvest season with a feast concocted by our dear friend and New York-based chef, Juliette Shimkin, using the bounty of local foods including meats raised on Suz’s brother’s farm outside Charlottesville.

In addition to the meal, local beers and wines will be provided.  Before we share a meal we will offer tours of the (still-under-construction) studio. And afterwards, we will set up a stage in the barn-in-progress and play you some of our favorite songs— both new and old.  We hope you will join us!

Suggested donation is $125 (minimum) per person and includes the meal, drinks, studio tour and concert.

Thank you for your continued support as we build this dream space together!

Your faithful troubadours,

Suz and David

Please note:

The barn is still a construction site, so wear appropriate footwear.

This is an outdoor event, but please bring a mask for the studio tour.

And finally, this gathering will not replace the Opening Party which will still take place in the winter/spring as soon as the barn is truly complete.
